Anthime Miller and Curtis F. Jones Presents the film Nosferatu with Original New Score

  • The Strand Theater 210 Main St., Hudson Falls, NY 12839 (map)

Local cellist and composer John Anthime Miller and sound designer Curtis F. Jones have announced that they will premiere their new collaborative score for the 1922 German horror film by F.W. Murnau “Nosferatu” with a screening of the film and a live performance of the score at 8 PM on Friday, June 15th at The Strand Theater in Hudson Falls, New York.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to perform a live score to a silent film, and what better place to do that than the beautiful Strand Theater?”, Miller says. “Also, scoring horror films is always so much fun!”

“Nosferatu” is an unauthorized film adaptation of Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’ and was originally released in Germany in 1922 and subsequently in the United States in 1929. It was nearly lost to history when Stoker’s estate sued to have all copies of the film destroyed. A few copies of the film managed to survive and it went on to become one of the most influential films of all time.

Tickets are available at the door and are $12 general admission and $10 for students and seniors. For more information visit www.johnanthimemiller.wordpress.com.
