On Saturday the 19th at 1 p.m., Knight’s original choreography, Ballet Meets Joplin, will feature pianist Jonathan Newell playing the music of Scott Joplin. According to Knight,

“Jonathan is a phenomenal musician. After I found out he grew up playing Joplin’s music with his grandmother, who was also a pianist, I wanted to collaborate with him to create this piece. The 1920s are my favorite era, and the grand piano is really the heart of the show. We place the pianist center stage and the dancing revolves around the piano.”
