Renowned Saratoga guitarist Joel Brown has been featured with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, at Tanglewood, with the Boston Pops, and on stages around the globe. Dave Maswick was in the early MTV hit band Blotto, and has long played bass for The Stony Creek Band, a progressive country-bluegrass outfit. Together, their live, duo performances feature beautifully arranged harmony singing over lush acoustic accompaniment highlighted by intricate, fingerpicked guitar work. Their expressive lead and solo vocals serve as perfect vehicles for their hook-laden, modern folk/pop and contemporary acoustic original songs.

As a classical guitarist, Joel Brown, has traveled worldwide appearing in the Czech republic, in Asia with the Singapore Chinese Orchestra and in the U.S. at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. His varied talents aren’t limited to classical music though. Brown is also a member of the touring group Triple Play, a border-crossing trio blending jazz with blues and folk, including members Chris Brubeck and harmonica legend Peter Madcat Ruth. Between tour dates he can be found at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs as an Artist-in-Residence.

As a member of the ‘80’s group Blotto, you may have seen Dave Maswick in the video for the hit song "I Wanna Be a Lifeguard" (on MTV’s very first day on the air), or later on NBC's Today Show. In fact, Dave's song "I Don't Know Why/Theme in Bar" from the cult classic horror film “Basket Case” has been included in the Museum of Modern Art's (MOMA) permanent collection. Dave continues to produce, write, perform and work with with many of the finest musicians in the U.S. and Europe on music, video and film projects too numerous to mention, all the while continuing his long association as a charter member of seminal country metal bluegrass proponents, the Stony Creek Band.

Special guest Brian Melick is a musician who has developed a wide range of experience as a drummer, multi hand percussionist, and as an educator. He has been a featured artist on over 400 commercially recorded works and has been produced by major as well as independent record companies.
