The Strand Theatre is pleased to announce the appearance of 90-year-old international comedienne  Marlene Osier. Marlene joined the Sweet Adelines in the early 1980s and enjoyed performing in their variety shows. Her love for having fun and entertaining led her to develop a one woman show starring “Gert Newton,” a renowned beauty and fashion consultant bag lady.  For 33 years, Gert has been more than happy to help solve all wardrobe malfunctions and beauty problems. Gert wants everyone to look their best!

Marlene has entertained people in Canada, Las Vegas, Bermuda on a cruise ship, Long Island on a posh yacht where they wanted to know why she didn't tell dirty jokes, and in numerous North Country locations.

She has left people laughing in school auditoriums, dude ranches, hotels, church halls, campgrounds, family reunions, and finally, a dream come true, soon on the big stage of the Strand Theatre.
