Free Admission, live music by the Lake George Community Band

American Gold Star Mothers was established in 1928 in Washington, DC with just 25 mothers. A Gold Star Mother’s child died while serving in the military. The Mission of these moms is to take care of their fellow Gold Star Mothers and our Veterans, all while promoting the education and history of this treasured organization. Sadly, the membership has grown over the years but the Mission remains. This National Organization recognizes the return home for Veterans presents numerous challenges, not always visible. Throughout this country and beyond is the tireless dedication of these mothers born of the memory of their beloved child they lost much too soon. The annual Department AGSM Convention conducts business while providing the opportunity to create bonds while healing in a picturesque surrounding.

2022 was the return of the Department of New York American Gold Star Mothers, Inc Convention to beautiful Lake George, N.Y. embracing these Moms in white with a warm Northern New York welcome. They enjoyed a lunch cruise on the Lac du Saint Sacrament, laid a wreath in Shepard Park, returned to the Holiday Inn Resort to be greeted by several Warren County Fire Companies raised flag, Veterans and the community. Department of New York President Cindy Roberts stated last year she “ hoped to offer these families and friends a setting of comfort and camaraderie on their journey in a club no one wants to join, but also an opportunity to reflect not only on the cost of freedom, but to remember those who have fought and are still fighting every day.”

Friday April 28, 2023 6:00 pm The Strand Theater 210 Main St Hudson Falls, NY 12839 will host the Memorial Ceremony. Live music will be provided by the Lake George Community Band. Public welcome and free to attend. Light refreshments and cake provided.
