‘The Cooper’s Cave Composers’ Consortium’ - a newly-minted group of local composer/musicians will share the stage for a Mother’s Day concert on May 14th at 3 PM at The Strand Theater on Main Street in Hudson Falls, NY.
Greg Auffredou (percussion), John Benware (piano), JP Hubbs (piano), Anthime Miller (cello, voice), Catherine Reid (piano), Ben Rowley (piano) and Elizabeth Woodbury Kasius (piano, melodica) join together to present an afternoon of entirely original compositions - some familiar favorites or rearrangements (with a few world premieres!) - all written by composers local to the lower Adirondack and Capital Region. The program of music will be as diverse as the group itself. There will be music for everyone and all are welcome!
Tickets are available at the door - $15 general admission. $10 seniors and students.
‘The Cooper’s Cave Composers’ Consortium’ was formed by a group of artists with very different musical backgrounds and all at different points in their respective creative careers. The Consortium was created with the goal of providing opportunities for other composers to have their original music performed in the greater 518 area, to expand the local audience for new music and to inspire the next generation of composers of any age or experience. They look forward to expanding both their roster and their performance schedule and to provide further performance and commission opportunities for other composers in the area.
