HUDSON FALLS, N.Y. - The Bunbury Players are presenting their first live show as a newly established performing arts company in Upstate New York on Friday, June 25th at 8:00 PM at the Strand Theatre in Hudson Falls, NY. The group was formed from a shared passion for creating accessible theatrical opportunities for performers and audiences. The concert production is lovingly named As We Stumble Along, which gets its namesake from the titular song of the musical The Drowsy Chaperone. Performances feature hits from a variety of famous musicals across the decades and will include a combination of solo, duet, and group performances. Be prepared to enjoy Broadway favorites from shows like Chicago, Into the Woods, The Phantom of the Opera, Guys and Dolls, and so many more! The production team consists of director Garrett West, co-director and choreographer Tim Frost, music director John Benware, production designers Katie Hawksby & Bill Howard, lighting designer Laura Darling, sound designer Brian Starnes, and stage manager Andrew Whipple. The cast of local performers are John Benware, Kat Capalbo, Joey Cook, Jason Cromie, Courtney Densmore, Tim Frost, Katie Hawksby, Bill Howard, Julianna Kopa, Heather Ritchie, Russell Roberts, Dan Slavin, Andrew Whipple, Emily Whipple, and Stephanie Willis. The Bunbury Player came together last year to present two virtual play readings free of charge. The Importance of Being Earnest and Pygmalion reached thousands of virtual viewers as a socially distanced response to the COVID-19 outbreak. The group features a variety of performance and technical talent to create opportunities for anyone wanting to learn or experience theatre.
The performance will begin at 8:00 PM on Friday, June 25th and will be streamed live online through the company's Facebook page (@BunburyPlayers2020). Donations help the Bumbury Players keep their performances free.
